Sharpsburg Family Worship Center will host free summer lunches for children younger than 18 at 610 Clay Street as the liaison for the state’s Summer Food Service Program, administered through the Department of Education and the Department of Agriculture.
Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank sponsors the event. More than 120 children are served weekly. Breakfast is served from 9 to 10 a.m. weekdays and is followed by lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m.
No registration is required and there are no income limitations.
The program begins June 15. It aims to supply continued access to nutritious meals with daily staples like yogurt, milk, fruit and cheese. Meals continue through Aug. 14.
